Adjusting your glasses at home
If you need adjustments made, we always recommended making a booking at monocle.com.sg/visit to drop by for adjustments by our trained opticians and optometrists. However, if it’s difficult to find a time to visit an optician, here’s a guide to making simple tweaks at home.
Our flagship acetate frames comes with metal bars embedded within, allowing for easy adjustments and a more comfortable fit. You can do the same with your metal and titanium glasses.
Tightening or loosening your frames at the side
To loosen them, hold onto the innermost corner of the temple, and use your other hand to gentle push the temple outwards. Repeat with the other temple.
To tighten them, push the temple inwards instead.
Tightening or loosening your frames behind the ear
To tighten them, hold onto the temple with one hand, and use your other hand to gentle push the end of the temple down. Repeat with the other temple.
To loosen them, push the temple upwards instead.
Straightening your frames
If you find your frames sitting lopsided on your face, here's how you can straighten them.
Hold the centre of your frames with one hand, then use your other hand to grip the innermost corner of the temple, with your thumb and index finger. Gently push the temple upwards or downwards as required to bring each side balanced with the other.
